Mimika Orchestra's originator, composer, author, producer and mastrmind Mak Murtić, a young Croatian saxophonist who studied at Middlesex University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music theory and composition. Mimika is thus a band with two headquaters, one in London and another one in Zagreb, it is a collective made mostly Croatian and British international musicians.

'Divinities of the Earth and the Waters' is an alternative jazz and orld concept album featuring 30 musicians. It is a psychedelic funeral ceremony dedicated to the late band members placed in a middle world between archaic and the modern. The plot follow a life of an individual from cradle to the grave and the piece itself is soaked into old-Slavic mythology and Balkan folklore. Mimika is alternative jazz orchestra with live electronics, ethnic instruments and modular synthesyizers, clearly influenced by progresive rock, free jazz, contenporary jazz, Croatian and British underground and world music.

One of the biggest influencers in the world of music Gilles Peterson featured the track Forgivness Day on his Worldwide International mix confirming the importance of this release. Although time will tell, it is already clear that this is one of the most important releases of Croatian jazz in the 21st century.
